Excavation · Land Clearing · Ponds — Cabot & Lonoke County Acreage

Excavation & dirt work for Cabot, Arkansas acreage.

Cabot is one of Arkansas's fastest-growing bedroom communities, running up US-67/167 into Little Rock. The big outfits chase the subdivisions inside the city grid. If you're building outside that line — acreage, a long gravel frontage, a homesite that needs clearing before it needs anything else — Cox Earthworks is the crew for one contractor doing it all: clearing, pad, driveway and pond.

Lonoke County acreage work

The ground outside the subdivision line —
that's our lane in Cabot.

Cabot keeps growing — it's one of the state's fastest-growing bedroom communities, filling up with commuters running US-67/167 into Little Rock. Inside the city limits, production builders are putting up subdivision after subdivision on quarter-acre lots. Outside that line — the 2-, 5-, and 20-acre tracts along the county roads — is a different kind of building, and it needs a different kind of contractor.

That buyer isn't shopping for a lot in a platted subdivision. They bought acreage, and before a house goes up they need the timber cleared, a pad cut for the new build, a gravel driveway run back from the county road, and maybe a pond dug while the dozer's already on site. Four separate calls to four separate subs is how that job usually goes. We do all four from one crew.

We're honest about the map: Cox Earthworks is a Heber Springs shop, about an hour up the road from Cabot. We're not a Cabot company and we won't pretend otherwise — but our iron has already worked Cabot ground: the Cabot Emergency Hospital project is on our commercial list, alongside bank and medical work in White Hall, Sherwood and Russellville. What we bring is a statewide license, our own truck fleet, and mobilization quoted up front — so the number you see in the bid is the number on the invoice.

Cabot questions, straight answers

Excavation in Cabot —
what folks ask.

Do you travel to Cabot, and what does mobilization cost?

Yes. Cabot is about an hour from our Heber Springs shop — well inside our working range. We haul our own equipment on our own trucks and quote mobilization up front as part of the bid, so there's no surprise travel charge on the invoice. Our 8-hour minimum makes it efficient to get a full day of work done on one trip out.

What does a building pad cost in Cabot?

It depends on the lot — acreage, access, how much clearing comes first, and how much cut and fill the grade needs. We walk the site before we put a number on it. As a reference point, our dozer rates run $165–$340/hr and excavators $160–$300/hr, 8-hour minimum, operator and fuel included. Full rate sheet is on our equipment rates page.

Can you clear my acreage outside Cabot?

Yes. Land clearing starts at $5,000 per acre. Distance from our shop and the size and density of the timber move that number up or down. This is core work for the acreage lots going up along the county roads outside Cabot's subdivisions.

Can you build a pond on my property?

Yes. Ponds start at $10,000 for the dirt work — cored, keyed and compacted to hold water. If the site needs clearing first, that's priced separately on top of the pond number.

Do you do gravel driveways out here?

Yes. Tri-axle aggregate loads start at $400 — material and hauling together — within 30 miles of our Heber Springs shop. Cabot sits just beyond that radius, so mileage gets added to the load price, and we quote it honestly up front before any gravel moves.

Are you licensed for utility work, not just dirt?

Yes. Our Arkansas license #3287-C carries both Highway/Railroad/Airport Construction and Underground Piping, Cable, Trenching & Boring classifications. A lot of dirt-only outfits can't legally run water, sewer or drainage lines — we can, on the same crew that clears and grades your site. See utility trenching & boring.
